Cow Working Clinic

This clinic is designed for the average recreational rider to introduce you and your horse to cattle, in
a controlled setting for a new experience that will be fun and enjoyable.

Objective: For you to learn how to move cattle as a herd and as a single cow, to cut cattle from a
herd, to move cattle through obstacles as a team and how to hold a rodear. You will also learn the
basic horsemanship skills needed by you and your horse to move cattle, which in turn will help
build confidence and trust between you and your horse, making you a better team to accomplish
tasks of all nature.


Cow Working / Ranch Sorting Clinic

This clinic will take our basic cow working clinic and step it up a notch or two . It is still designed
for the average recreational rider to introduce you and your horse to cattle. It will also introduce you
to the fast growing sport of ranch sorting. Both will be in a controlled setting suitable for the
beginner as well as those who want to get a little more advanced.


Basic Horsemanship Clinic

Clinic covers basic Horsemanship from ground to saddle: This clinic is to teach you how to
communicate to your horse in a way that they understand and respect.

Objective: For you to have a better understanding of your horse and what he is looking for from
you and to give you the basic skills needed to build a lasting partnership with your horse. (keep in
mind that every horse and handler will progress at their own rate and no two will ever be the same).


Rope Handling

Topics covered: Basic rope handling, how to swing and throw several types of loops, how to
Rope-Break your horse.

Why: Even if you never intend to rope cattle or anything else for that matter, rope handing and
rope-breaking your horse is a great opportunity to develop confidence and trust between you and
your horse. It will also better your horsemanship skills and help you produce a well-seasoned horse
that is safer for all.

Clinic will consist of two parts: First part (half day) basic rope handling, swinging and throwing
loops, and intro to Rope-Breaking your horse. All done from the ground/ no horses! Second part
(half day) rope handling, swinging and throwing loops. All done from horse back!
*All roping will be done on roping dummies. No live cattle. Yet.
You may bring your own horse or use one of mine.


Ranch Roping 101

Topics covered: Rope handling skills while horse back. How to hold your rope, build a loop, swing
you rope, throw your rope, dally and handle your slack all while you are riding, reining, and
controlling your horse. Types of loops, how to throw them and when and where to use them. How
to slide rope and handle cattle. How to set up cattle for different roping shots. How to handle cattle
once they are roped.

* Clinic will be done with cattle.
* This clinic will be done with Breakaway Hondo's to insure the safety of the students and their
horses.


Ranch Roping

This is a clinic for the more advanced ropers and horseman

Topics covered: Types of loops, Cattle setup for different shots, How to handle slack, How to
slide rope, How to handle cattle once they are roped, How to head and heel, How to lay cattle
down, How to tie cattle down, How to do three man roping, two man roping and one man roping,
How to be the ground man when roping.

* Clinic to be done with cattle
* This clinic is as close to the real thing as it gets. You will get rope burns, kicked, run over, and
dirty. But, boy will it be fun....


Trail Riding and Horsemanship Clinic

Objective: To provide riders simple steps and methods to achieve a safer, more reliable trail horse.
To improve your horsemanship skills as to better direct your horse in a manner that builds trust and
encourages your horse to look to you for guidance and leadership.

Class will take place on natural trails and pastures on a 200-acre ranch with numerous obstacles to
challenge you and your horse.
